Man Charged With Reckless Driving After Hitting Police Deputy Directing Traffic

Man hits police directing traffic

An 86-year old Caroline County man is being charged with reckless driving after allegedly hitting a deputy who was directing school traffic Monday. According to reports the man was driving east when he made contact with the officer who was wearing a reflective vest and using a traffic baton. The deputy is in stable condition but has a possible fracture and ligament tears. Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.
